You are in Boston you are tired and want to star off your morning late but still craving breakfast well look no further, they have the best brunch in town everyday of the week. Some reviews were bad but dont let that deter you ... yes the place is small (so prep yourself to not bring too much bulkiness that day lol) but we had great conversations with the other guests. The service was great and the food was so so good !
Best Brunch of Boston! Compact diner vibes in the North End with amazing dishes! The brunch options are very creative, delicious, and filling. Fresh and in house made Banana Bread severed generously before serving main course meals. The service is kind & efficient, fast paced environment. They’re always busy…it’s a MUST to have reservations and your whole party must be on time. Lines out the door, especially on weekends, for a reason! It’s one of my favorite places to bring people for an experiential brunch.
Just had an EXCELLENT brunch here! Definitely make a reservation since it was busy! They’re known for their banana bread french toasts and I can confirm it was amazing. I loved my make your own omelette with veggies and Boursin cheese and I would also recommend the ECBLT—simple, but delicious. Their menu has so many great things to choose from that we even got short rib grilled cheeses to go which were also 10/10. Make the time to come here! North Street Grille is a nice brunch diner. However a few things happened during our experience which made the experience fall short from 5 stars. We made a brunch booking for 2 pm on Sunday (11/9/25) and for our booking we noted that it was for a special occasion, our wedding anniversary and asked for anything to be done to just make the day extra special. Nothing was done to accommodate this request, not even acknowledged. This was a shame and a missed opportunity. Regardless, the food was good - we ordered the chicken waffle sliders and the special blueberry cheesecake french toast. They both tasted very nice, portions were large but we managed to get through both whilst sharing with each other. A critique to the chicken waffle sliders was that it became quite dry, it was meant to come with siracha mayo of some sort but it was quite sparse, adding hot sauce just about made up for it. The blueberry cheesecake french toast was really nice and sweet, it could pass with the extra maple syrup because adding that makes it quite sickly. Overall the food was nice and portions were large. Overall service was good, we were welcomed upon our arrival, guided to our seats and our waiter came by often offering refils for our drinks and checking in. Next, the atmosphere, this place is just too crammed and busy. To get to my seat it was quite a squeeze because the tables were so close to each other. Removing about 2-3 tables from the seating plan would have made the arrangement more comfortable for both staff and guests, literally only one person could fit in the walkway at any given time. Another note, because there is so many people, music and kitchen in such close proximity, it was quite loud, so having a conversation was quite difficult. Overall we rate North Street Grille 4/5 stars, the food was nice, atmosphere quite busy and cramped which isn't great for a date but maybe better for brunch with friends, service made up for the experience.
The space is tight and there was a wait of about 30 minutes but it was definitely worth it. The free banana bread was such a pleasant surprise. I had the chicken and waffles. I could’ve used a little more seasoning on the chicken and waffles but they were still yummy. My husband had the French toast and 1 strawberry pancake. He had to hold himself back from eating it all. I appreciated the fast and pleasant service too. Overall, a great experience and this will definitely be a stop when we come back to Boston.
We looked for a place to have a late breakfast before the days adventures and decided to get a reservation the day before to give them a try. The restaurant was busy but not crazy like during a weekend. We sat right away and everyone from the host to our server were friendly and attentive. The restaurant is small (as with most cities with small places) but we did not mind. As for food we ordered the scrambled and cheddar on a croissant, 2 eggs with turkey sausage, mixed greens (extra) and a pancake (extra), latte (they only have regular milk) and a regular coffee. We did not get to try their complimentary piece of banana bread, but the food was fresh, made to order, flavorful and a good portion. Definitely give them a try for a good breakfast in Boston!
Great food and friendly service, we were able to get bar seating as soon as we walked in on a week day. Food was excellent and sooooo filling. French toast bites were great as was the egg sandwich. Highly recommend!
Had brunch on Friday, we didn't do a reservation so had to wait- she said 15 to 30 mins but was only about 17mins. They were slammed so it made sense, she got us in and sat very quickly at the bar. Bartender was great, drinks and food came out very fast. Smaller places so kinda cramped and noisy but you can still enjoy yourself and have a conversation. We ordered the banana bourbon french toast and the breakfast burrito. WOW!! they were both fantastic, portion sizes were very large as well. Definitely a must visit when in Boston
